Well said, Borky old bean! I would only add that were I American, I would reject the assumption that one need be a lawyer at all to sit on the Supreme Court. I can see that they want a reflective, intelligent, educated judge, but the Constitution was written to be read by laymen, and suitable laymen are likely to do a much better job than unsuitable lawyers. Keep lawyers for the technical level of judging: the Constitutional court would be better for having a mix of people on it.
