It's festival time!
The Edinburgh Festival Fringe began last weekend, and the Festival proper kicks off on Sunday. So far, apart from the free street theatre - just how many student productions of MacBeth are there? - we have been to two shows both involving puppetry. The Bicycle Men involved Americans, a strange village in France and L'Homme du Bicyclette - one for Lynne, perhaps. Good fun. The Cabaret Decadanse was altogether different - never before has Nina Simone been played by a two-man puppet. Simply brilliant. Go now (but if you are a man, avoid the front row - actually, on second thoughts - make for the front row and enjoy yourself).
